A Lovers Purgatory
To form an expression
Or let ‘it’ rest away
Until there's a new one
And they feel the same
What a shame!
For the noticing mind that I have
To interpret demise
Or rise
Or hypothetical surprise
Only to watch
It all crash down
Underneath the weight
Of false pretenses
Left me senseless
Asking now
Did she lie?
Did she fib?
By blankly starring
Into the abyss
Of both of my eyes,
Then sharply away
I can recall back when
They used to stay
But dont say!
Dont go there
Poor memory hole
Have not to bear
The Glory era
Of our ascent
Or tis’ just I
Interpret it?
For not! I hollar
In bitter disgust
Crying, to one side
“In our love I trust-
-ed, to go forth and prosper
Even whence it was tough
Like the crews of ol’ Franklin
Steadfast through the rough
Even when I go east
And start a new job
And set new routines
And live amongst others
And what lies in between
And you do the same
Live a quaint western dream
With your incredible wit
Could drift away slowly
Until one of us quits
And cries out in guilt
“True love, doth betray!”
If I made a girl
Feel like I do today
But I have made
You fool!
You reckless torment!
What of the three last ones,
That I left in a mess?
In shambles, I cry
With a strange confidence
shouting “their pain was lighter!”
And I make more sense
But of course I do not
Curled around the chestboard
While her aura departs
And I reach for the sword
But I warn
That this surely
wont affect me deep down
I wont let it
Not that there's an ‘it’ anyhow
Because she didnt hurt me
And I will move on
Stumble on
Trip once, a few times
Then will rise again strong
And, oh my, am I
Coping!
Or doping
Or hoping
That I will believe in
This world ive constructed
And instructed
To resist pleas against dogma
At any and all costs
Because this position is one
That I will regardless take
So I can wake
Up in the morning
And forget what
Its like holding
Her hair on
A slight incline
As I look down,
Observe her lines
Scars and virtues
Cheeks and her cracks
And lips that even
Dear Heliouse lacked
Or any women I could see
With no other lady I could be
And dont that sound
A bit dramatic?
Cute, and nice and sweet and ratchet
Shut it! She’s gone
Now burn the hatchet
Say goodbye
Bury the ashes
Who?
What now
Im having such a good time
Hiking, backpack,
Beer and more wine
And still I can't get you out of my mind
Don't you find tis’ my problem?
That I search for a grasp
If love was still present
Would I have to ask?
Or would eyes thus meet
Without beg or push
On an elevated plain
And bring me no pain
Never force me to call out
To Gods, “Im insane!”
My ego is dying
Whatever feeling inside
Where longings at home
And becoming is primed
I must rise up in manhood
Take back what I've lost
For losing a girl
And ending the plot
And attempting what's not
Now in my control
To never explode
I'll never explode!
Give me heavy load
Mode it up to my being
So I can turn off
And come back for dinner
Eat nothing but stuff-
-ing and mash potatoes
And to my delight
My friends are at sight
Ol’ town looks alright
Settle here just I might..
In your Bosom?
But really
In the depths
Of a Lovers Purgatory
